About Claudia Gehlhaart
Claudia Gehlhaart is an RN and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner located in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She is also trained at an advanced level in energy medicine therapies, including long distance modalites. She is passionate about helping individuals explore ways to improve their lives, health, and finding ways to help others heal from past and current challenges, trauma, or problems.
My Story
Although I began my foray into the healing arts while much younger, it was not until I was 30 that I found I had inherited my interest via my ancestry. While concurrently certifying in Healing Touch, and finishing up at nursing school, my mother revealed this to me. It seems my great grandmother was a well-known hands-on healer with remarkable abilities. How I wished I had known her.

Like many of the healers I know, I came into the world of healing arts via my own search for help with personal health issues and questions, having suffered my own traumas in youth and early adulthood. At the age of 16, I was introduced to meditation and deliberate interaction with my subconscious self. As I discovered other modalities that helped me, I was inspired to learn more.

The paths led to many places - Botany at the university led me to the study of Herbalism, Ethnobotany, Aromatherapy, Plant Medicine and Flower Essences. After giving birth to my child at home, I learned about Homeopathic medicine from my midwife and went on to study wisdom contained there. I leaned about good nutrition while being a vegetarian for many years during that time. I trained in Massage Therapy, which ironically, launched me into less hands-on healing techniques, years later.
As a nursing student, I found myself despairing over the incomplete view of health and wellbeing offered by allopathic medicine and felt ready to quit. Then I discovered the American Holistic Nurses Association, which helped me to fully open the door to Energy Therapies. I trained in Therapeutic Touch, and then became certified in Healing Touch - the first in the state of Wisconsin to do so in 1994. My awareness expanded and propelled me further into the study and application of Energy Medicine and Shamanic Healing. It has been an organic evolution for me and a wonderful journey, especially having had the good fortune to study with icons in the field that were hard to find in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

I became dedicated enough to interpret, teach and use daily what I had learned, in order to develop my personal healing portfolio, which I still consider a toolkit of wonder and mystery.
